General Questions:

Q1

Why when I try to operate the output channel on WISE controller via Modbus TCP, there is no response?

A1

There must be at least one edited rule on WISE controller for logic engine to function. Therefore, if you find you have made a change to the output channel value via Modbus TCP, but there is no real output to the hardware, please make sure there exists at least one rule on the WISE controller. In addition, please also make sure the operations you are performing via the Modbus TCP do not conflict with your edited Rules. In this case, the operations performed via Modbus TCP will be ignored. For example, if you set up the DO channel on the WISE controller to ON via Modbus TCP, but there exists a rule to set DO to OFF and the rule has been executed already, the ON setting via Modbus TCP will not take effect.

Q2

Why there exists a rule before I start to edit rules?

A2

To prevent the issue mentioned above, now the factory default setting of the WISE controller will include the following rule: IF(IR1==1 and IR2==2 and IR3==3) THEN IR4==99
The user can modify this rule as they need.

Q3

How to upgrade firmware version 1.0x to version 1.1 for WISE controller?

A3

Please refer to WISE v1.1 Upgrade Note.

Q4

What to do if I forget my WISE password?

A4

The default password for WISE is “wise”, if you make a change to the password and forget the password, please send an email to service@icpdas.com with your question and WISE controller MAC address. We will send you a note to reset the password to “wise”.

Q5

How does the Email sending function works on WISE?

A5

WISE will send the edited email to the SMTP server you previously set up; and then the server will send the email to the receiver(s). To ensure appropriate operation, a local SMTP server and account is recommended. If you would like to use a free email service, it is recommended to use Yahoo email service. Currently the email must be transmitted via port 25.
