ICP DAS Releases New Product:

WISE-5801 - The Intelligent Data Logger PAC Controller with SMS function


WISE-5801 is the latest PAC controller of WISE-580x series from ICP DAS. WISE-5801 provides an easy-to-use web page for users. No programming is required; it takes only a few clicks on web pages via browsers to implement control logic settings. The built-in IF-THEN-ELSE logic engine inside WISE-5801 will check whether the logic rules are valid or not and determine the execution of actions under specific conditions, for examples: setting up I/O channel values, perform scheduled and Timer tasks, sending Email /CGI command under a specific condition. WISE-5801 allows to connecting with a wide range of XW-Boards, I-7000 I/O modules and Modbus RTU Slave devices that enables users to freely choose the most suitable I/O modules for the applications. With the microSD card, WISE-5801 also provides Data Logger function to real-time record the I/O data of the controller and sends back the data files by FTP or Email at a scheduled time to the control center for further administration management or data analysis. In addition, through the Modbus TCP/RTU Protocol, WISE-5801 enables seamless integration with SCADA software or HMI devices to control or monitor I/O channels on controllers in real time.

In response to the increasing global popularity of mobile device applications, in addition to all advanced features inheriting from the existing WISE-5800, WISE-5801 also incorporates two-way SMS message interactive control function. Apart from the traditional SMS message sending function that enables to send alarm status reports to mobile devices, WISE-5801 also allows to receive the SMS commands from the mobile devices to retrieve the I/O channel data, modify the output channel data or trigger IF-THEN-ELSE rule execution. Detailed description is as below:

 

● SMS alarm message sending function

WISE-5801 is equipped with a built-in GSM module that enables SMS alarm message sending function. SMS is an important function for real-time message communication. The SMS sending action can be added to the logic edition as part of IF-THEN-ELSE logic control to provide real-time message sending in response to specific events. WISE-5801 also provides intuitive interface for users to add the I/O channel encoded string into the SMS content, so that the receivers will receive the SMS message with the real-time I/O channel values of WISE-5801 in the SMS content.

● SMS command receiving function

The built-in GSM module inside WISE-5801 also provides SMS command receiving function. WISE-5801 allows up to three authorized phone numbers settings. To avoid unauthorized access to the controller, WISE will only accept the SMS commands sent by these three authorized phone numbers. The process is secure and simple. When WISE-5801 receives the SMS command, the corresponding actions will be processed by the WISE rule engine, and the result of the action will also be replied to the user by SMS message. Three types of SMS commands are supported.

 

● Real-time I/O channel data retrieve: retrieve specific I/O channel real-time data of WISE-5801 by SMS command.
● Modify output channel data: modify output channel or Internal Register data of WISE-5801 by SMS command.
● Trigger IF-THEN-ELSE rule execution: set the SMS variable value to trigger the IF-THEN-ELSE rule execution by SMS command.

 

With the release of WISE-5801, ICP DAS also announces the release of v2.2 firmware for WISE-580x series controller. The v2.2 firmware is for all WISE-580x controllers. The major improvements are described as below:

 

● Web page for mobile device operation

In order to meet the requirement from mobile device users who want to monitor the real-time status of WISE controller through Web page; now, ICP DAS provide the WISE Web page for mobile devices in v2.2 firmware. This enhancement provides a better visual effects and optimum use of screen arrangements for mobile devices. With this design, it provides instant access to the WISE controller and guarantee excellent user experience in a simple, easy and convenient way.

● Fully authorized access management

In v2.2 firmware, WISE provides two password sets to login into the system, one for Administrator, the other for Guest. With the login interface to Logic Setting page and Channel Monitoring page, it allows to assign different authorized access right to different users.

● More powerful schedule function provided

In the old version WISE firmware, each Schedule task only supports one time range setting. Now In v2.2 firmware, each Schedule task can support up to 12 time range settings. This enhancement enables WISE to be suitable for applications which need more Schedule task operations, such as 3 shifts lighting control system in factory or office, school bell control system…etc. WISE-580x (with v2.2 firmware) makes the implementation of these systems being easier and more flexible.
